Glenn Youngkin Won-Ciattarelli Shocked the Nation

On Tuesday, America had the general election. There were a lot of local elections that happened throughout the nation, but the biggest elections were the gubernatorial elections in the states of New Jersey and Virginia. Glenn Youngkin won the election with 50.7% of the vote. This came as a surprise since Joe Biden won Virginia by 10 points in the 2020 Presidential Election. Glenn Youngkin might be the start of the new Republican Party. He’s a moderate Republican who might be able to bring the Republican Party away from Donald Trump. Yes, Trump did endorse Youngkin, but that’s because he won. Trump really wanted to see Amanda Chase win the GOP convention, instead, Youngkin won and now Trump has to deal with him.

I think that the biggest shocker of the night was the gubernatorial election in New Jersey. Joe Biden won the state of New Jersey in the 2020 Presidential Election by 16 points. Phil Murphy also won the election in 2017 by 14 points. This election was a lot closer than even I expected. Jack Ciattarelli, the Republican nominee lead for a large part of the night. In the end, though, Murphy won, but he only won by two points.

This should scare Democrats. The 2022 midterms are now a year away. Joe Biden is an extremely unpopular president right now and it showed in those two elections in New Jersey and Virginia. Biden has failed as President so much that even a safe blue state in New Jersey almost elected a Republican governor.

To Democrats, I think you should change your agenda. If you go into the midterms with nothing done that is your fault. Work with Sinema and Manchin and get a deal done that might actually help your party in the midterms. Don’t stay in a stalemate or else you will lose in 2022 and you will lose by a lot.
